Researcher biography

Judy completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at The University of Queensland in 1979, followed by pre-registration and subsequent employment in community pharmacy. She completed a Diploma in Education in 1987 and moved to hospital pharmacy in 1998, where she worked for 17 years. During this time, Judy undertook many practice based research projects in respiratory medicine. She completed her Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy in 2001, and Masters in 2005 and commenced work as a conjoint lecturer with the Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Program in 2002.

For 16 years Judy has worked part time as a lecturer and course co-ordinator in the Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Programs. During that time, Judy has supervised many students undertaking Masters in Clinical Pharmacy research projects.

Since 2019, she works in the undergraduate pharmacy program as a lecturer and course coordinator.

Judy completed a Gradate Certificate in Higher education in 2010 and continues her research interest in Pharmacy Education and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Judy has a passion for QUM and the professional development of pharmacists.

Her PhD was entitled "Becoming Pharmacists: exploring professional development of pharmacists following graduation".

Judy continues to have a part-time clinical role as an accedited pharmacist, performing HMRs for GP practices.
