Domestic Students
Rural Pharmacy Scholarship Scheme
Administered by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia
The Rural Pharmacy Scholarships have been established to provide financial support to encourage and enable students from rural and remote communities to undertake undergraduate or graduate studies in pharmacy at University.
There are up to 30 scholarships offered annually, with a value of $10,000 per annum per student (ie. $40,000 per student over a four year period).
Scholarship recipients are encouraged to seek employment in rural and remote areas following graduation.

UQ Undergraduate Scholarships - Domestic Students
Administered by the University of Queensland
UQ’s undergraduate scholarship program is the largest in Queensland and one of the most generous in Australia.
Finding the right scholarship does require some research as the eligibility criteria varies by scholarship type.

International Students
International Pharmacy Scholarship (1st year entry)
The UQ Pharmacy School offers a $3000 scholarship to be paid during the 1st semester of study to a student enrolled in the 1st year of the Bachelor of Pharmacy.
Allocation is based on academic achievement. All eligible applicants are considered automatically (no application form required).
International Pharmacy Scholarship (2nd year entry)
There are several of these scholarships awarded each year, one each to the highest achieving student from Republic Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic.
The UQ Pharmacy School offers a $3000 scholarships to be paid during the 1st semester of study to a student who through previous study enrols directly into the 2nd year of the Bachelor of Pharmacy.
Allocation is based on academic achievement. All eligible applicants are considered automatically (no application form required).

Research Higher Degree Scholarships
Research Higher Degree candidates may apply for a variety of scholarships:
- Alan Grant-Taylor Memorial Scholarship
- Australian Postgraduate Awards (APAs)
- Dora Lush NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarships
- Cancer Fund
- National Heart Foundation
- IPRS applicants (with an outstanding undergraduate performance and research publications)
The School proactively seeks to support students via its Research Committee's Scholarship Program.
It is recommended that students seek the advice of their supervisor and/or the Research and Scholarships Officer to assist with applications as:
- Application dates vary
- Top-up scholarships may be available
- Scholarships for students with Honours Class IIA may be available
- Funds to support travel to international conferences may be available

UQ Summer & Winter Research Programs
The Summer and Winter Research Programs provide students with an opportunity to gain research experience working alongside some of the university’s leading academics and researchers.
Participation is open to undergraduate (including honours) and masters by coursework students who are currently enrolled at UQ.
Please note: Students do not need to be studying a Bachelor of Pharmacy to be eligible to complete a Summer Research Program at the School of Pharmacy. Some restrictions may apply.

Australian Rural and Remote Health Professional Scholarship
The Australian Rural and Remote Health Professional Scholarship (ARRHPS) Scheme is a scholarship program aimed at supporting qualified allied health professionals living and working in rural and remote Australia to undertake continuing professional development activities.
