Abstract

In this seminar, Dr Kumari will discuss her research and key findings in the field of NF-kB, TNF, cytokines, apoptosis, and necroptosis signalling pathways in regulating inflammation and immunity.

Speaker biography

Dr Snehlata KumariDr Snehlata Kumari is a lab head of the skin inflammation and immunity laboratory at the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute, TRI in Brisbane. Her laboratory focuses on understanding immune-modulatory signalling mechanisms regulating inflammatory processes.

She received her PhD from Germany and did a postdoc at the University of Cologne in Germany. She made multiple discoveries and advanced the knowledge in the research field of NF-kB, TNF, cytokines, apoptosis, and necroptosis signalling pathways in regulating inflammation and immunity. These findings are published in multiple high-quality journals like Nature and Immunity. Her scientific contributions are recognised by the global scientific communities including the German National Academy of Sciences- Leopoldina, European Society for Dermatological Research, Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology, and International Cytokine and Interferon Society.

She received prestigious awards as an emerging leader including the 2021 Christina Fleischmann Award for Young Women Investigators from the International cytokine and interferon society, USA, and the collegiality award from the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology, recognizing her significant contribution to advancing the cytokine and NF-kB research field.
