Our program is changing from 2022

Our new curriculum has 3 integrated streams of study:

1. Pharmacy practice and Medicines management, encompassing consultation and dispensing skills and work-integrated learning

2. Pharmaceutical sciences

3. Social Pharmacy and the health system

Our integrated approach means you’ll gain a strong understanding of how theory is applied to real cases across a wide range of settings. 

Pharmacists are often the first port of call for healthcare issues so they need great communication skills. We teach you how to speak to patients in the community, hospitals and other settings. Our interprofessional education program ensures you will learn how to work as a valued member of a multi-disciplinary primary healthcare team. 

Business management skills are an important part of the pharmacy profession, so we have incorporated an extensive business management component in our degree. Our business teachers are successful pharmacy owner/managers with many years of commercial experience.

The pharmacy profession is changing, and our new inquiry-based approach to learning will help develop your problem-solving and critical thinking skills (visualised in Figure 2). Our curriculum has been carefully designed to ensure you’ll be an agile and adaptable graduate, equipped for the real world.

For pharmacy subjects, your on-campus training will be interactive and you will engage with our world-class teachers in tutorials, workshops and practicals.  We use a blended delivery model so that you will complete part of your weekly studies online, whilst still participating in the vibrant pharmacy student learning community on campus.

You will develop your professional skills by learning and practicing in PACE’s simulated pharmacies and mock dispensaries before experiencing the wide range of pharmacy roles via our placements program. You will benefit from our extensive industry contacts and professional partnerships and be supported by our dedicated school of pharmacy placement team.
