Primary care pharmacy practice (in community pharmacies and clinics) is changing, driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, an increase in publicly-funded pharmacist prescribing, and the creation and expansion of pharmacist-led primary care clinics. In this presentation, Dr. Jennifer Isenor will provide an overview of several interdisciplinary research projects aimed at supporting pharmacists, against this backdrop of rapid change, and understanding patient value in pharmacist-led primary care in the Canadian Maritime Provinces.

Jennifer Isenor is an Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology, Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She is a licensed pharmacist with experience in primary care, geriatric long-term care, and acute inpatient care. Her research focuses on health services and includes evaluation of the scope of practice of pharmacists in primary care, including immunizing and prescribing.
