The Medication Use, Safety and Health Services research theme encompasses translating evidence into pharmacy practice and health systems to ensure safe use of medicines across the life course. Underpinning this approach is research into professional practice, educational research and workforce development.

Our achievements

  • Research published in top tier journals in the field including – Medical Journal of Australia, BMJ Quality and Safety, Qualitative Health Research, BMJ Open.
  • Successful applications to the National Health and Medical Research Council, and other competitive granting schemes.
  • Expertise in novel and emerging methods including Stepped Wedge Cluster Randomised Trials.
  • Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences at UQ is ranked at the highest possible level (well above world standard (5/5, ERA 2018).
  • Past and current research leaders have won many fellowships (e.g. NHMRC ECF, CDF) and awards.
